Granddad, Tell How Capitalism Committed Suicide: Mark Gilbert

Posted by Charlie Kilo on July 12th, 2008

If you’ve read “The Road” you’ll love this. Heck if you haven’t read “The Road” you’ll still think this article is brilliant:

“So when a film came out called `The Road’ about a post- apocalyptic world, people were already scared and angry. They started to form cults worshipping the author of the tale, a reclusive writer called Cormac McCarthy who never gave interviews and never did publicity, and had won a Pulitzer Prize in 2007. They decided he was some sort of prophet of doom.”

By the flickering firelight, Granddad could see Joel’s eyelids beginning to droop.

“That’s enough storytelling for one night, Master Bernanke. Go and make yourself warm under the blankets. We’ll be safe in this cave until morning, then we’ll press on toward the coast.”

Poll: Founders would be disappointed in America

Posted by patriot on July 4th, 2008

Rolling in their graves, no doubt:

As Americans celebrate the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, an overwhelming majority say the 56 signers of that document would be displeased at how the country has turned out.

According to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll, close to 70 percent say that if the signers of the Declaration of Independence could see America today they would be disappointed, while just under 30 percent say the founding founders would be happy with the country 232 years later.

Americans didn’t always feel that way — in 2001, 54 percent thought that the signers would be pleased with the state of the country today; now that figure is down to just 29 percent.

AMERICANS EMBRACING THE IRON FIST OF TOTALITARIAN GOVERNMENT

Posted by Charlie Kilo on May 26th, 2008

Millions have woken up. We at OAS have woken up. Have you woken up?

Hundreds, if not thousands of writers and investigative journalists have been pumping out the facts on the implementation of a one world government. We have exposed the players, the organizations and the politicians. We have exposed the corrupt “mainstream” media (print and electronic), including cable networks (MSNBC, FAUX, CNN) who lie through omission and openly support those who are carrying the water for the global lunatics. Our biggest cannon has been the Internet. This tool has allowed us to reach millions of Americans with the truth and we will continue to do so. However, the bottom line as I have said so many times before is that only we the people can stop these united States of America from becoming part of a global region is by rejecting the agenda.

The mendacity by these evil individuals world wide pushing globalization down our throats has been incredible. The program adopted to bring these plans to fruition has worked beyond their wildest dreams because tens of millions of Americans have allowed it to happen either through laziness, blind party loyalty, indifference and apathy. However, as time has gone by and conditions worsen for the American people, millions are waking up. Sadly, many more millions are willing to surrender their freedom and liberty for scraps from the King’s table.

Survivalism gains momentum

Posted by patriot on May 25th, 2008

More and more are getting prepared:

The exact number of people taking such steps is impossible to determine, but anecdotal evidence suggests that the movement has been gaining momentum in the last few years.

These energy survivalists are not leading some sort of green revolution meant to save the planet. Many of them believe it is too late for that, seeing signs in soaring fuel and food prices and a faltering U.S. economy, and are largely focused on saving themselves.

Some are doing it quietly, giving few details of their preparations _ afraid that revealing such information as the location of their supplies will endanger themselves and their loved ones. They envision a future in which the nation’s cities will be filled with hungry, desperate refugees forced to go looking for food, shelter and water.

“There’s going to be things that happen when people can’t get things that they need for themselves and their families,” said Lynn-Marie, who believes cities could see a rise in violence as early as 2012.

Lynn-Marie asked to be identified by her first name to protect her homestead in rural western Idaho. Many of these survivalists declined to speak to The Associated Press for similar reasons.

Hirsh: An Unnatural Disaster

Posted by Charlie Kilo on May 15th, 2008

America bears much of the blame for its waning global clout:

In a month of horrific natural disasters—the China quake, the Burma cyclone—it’s instructive to consider what one of the biggest unnatural disasters in memory looks like. That is the decline in America’s position in the world from where we were when George W. Bush inherited power on Jan. 20, 2001, to what he will bequeath to the next president eight months from now.

In many articles and in book after book American “declinists” nowadays tend to portray America’s reduced stature as a largely natural phenomenon. Never mind that on the eve of the Bush presidency we were still seen as the most powerful nation in the history of the world. Decadent powers always wane in influence, and it seems we’ve just been doing a lot of waning very quickly. As other countries around the world partook of the ideas we pressed on them in the post-cold war era—free markets, democracy—they started to prosper and catch up to us. Meanwhile we grew fatter (literally) and more spoiled. It was all very organic.

Hirsh concludes:

Had we handled things right, what is now deemed American “decline” could have played out very differently. We will never know, of course. And we won’t know for a long time whether the next president can begin the titanic task of raising us up again. All is hardly lost: despite the rise of China and India, and Russia’s rumblings, there is still no credible rival to superpower status. But let’s not kid ourselves about the cause of our problems.

Glenn Beck hosts Joel Rosenberg to discuss last days stuff:

For senior, abortion a medium for art, political discourse

Posted by Charlie Kilo on April 17th, 2008

This is just SICK…

Art major Aliza Shvarts ‘08 wants to make a statement.

Beginning next Tuesday, Shvarts will be displaying her senior art project, a documentation of a nine-month process during which she artificially inseminated herself “as often as possible” while periodically taking abortifacient drugs to induce miscarriages. Her exhibition will feature video recordings of these forced miscarriages as well as preserved collections of the blood from the process.

The goal in creating the art exhibition, Shvarts said, was to spark conversation and debate on the relationship between art and the human body. But her project has already provoked more than just debate, inciting, for instance, outcry at a forum for fellow senior art majors held last week. And when told about Shvarts’ project, students on both ends of the abortion debate have expressed shock . saying the project does everything from violate moral code to trivialize abortion.

81% of Americans think we’re sucking it up

Posted by patriot on April 4th, 2008

81% don’t like where we’re headed. But as Dick Cheney would say: So?

Four out of five Americans believe things are “on the wrong track” in the United States, the gloomiest outlook in about 20 years, according to a New York Times/CBS News poll released on Thursday.

The poll found that 81 percent of respondents felt “things have pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track.” That was up from 69 percent last year and 35 percent in early 2003.

Only 4 percent of survey respondents said the country was better off than it was five years ago, while 78 percent said it was worse, the newspaper said.
